Lectors bring the Word of God to life by reading the First and Second Readings, and sometimes the
Responsorial Psalms and Prayers of the Faithful during Mass. Effective proclamation requires preparation that is spiritual, scriptural and practical. Effective proclamation, as well as delivery of the message with clarity, conviction and appropriate pace are necessary to arouse the faith in those who hear the Word of God. At OLPH, our Lectors are members of Mass Teams and generally each member proclaims God's Word once a month.
