Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is available to Catholics who are seriously ill, preparing for major surgery, suffering from the frailty of old age, or experiencing a serious decline in health.

If you or a loved one would like to receive this sacrament, please contact the parish office at (504) 464-0361 as soon as possible. Do not wait until the last moments of life to request the sacrament.

In cases of emergency, especially when someone is in danger of death, please call the parish immediately so that a priest may be contacted.

The Anointing of the Sick is not ordinarily administered for minor illnesses or routine medical procedures.
